A web user does not have to wait to view or hear the file until it is downloaded. Instead it is sent in small packets or a stream, playing continuously as it arrives. Plays in CDC approved players (Real, Windows Media and Flash) It is usually sent from a prerecorded video file but it can be distributed as a part of a live broadcast feed.
