US HISTORY BINDER
YOU’LL NEED…. Dividers Three Ring Binder Ruled Paper A Folder
SECTION ONE: VOCAB • This section is for your vocabulary. Each week you will get 5 vocab words and a chart to fill out. THIS CHART IS A GRADE. When you finish your chart show me so I can check your name off- YOU MUST SHOW ME YOUR CHART BY FRIDAY. After I check your chart, hole punch it and put it in this section of your binder.
SECTION 2: BELL WORK/EXIT SLIPS • This section is for your bell work and exit slips. Take out some paper from your pack and put it in this section. Each bell work/exit slip will only take up part of your paper so at the end of the day just draw a line. At the end of the week I will take up your exit slips and bell work so make sure you keep up with them.
SECTION 3: NOTES • This will be the biggest section of your binder. When we take notes in class they need to go in this section of your binder. You can take your paper out of your notebook to write, but make sure you put it BACK IN YOUR BINDER IN THE RIGHT SECTION. Put the rest of your notebook paper here.
SECTION 4: QUIZZES • This section is for your past quizzes and quiz corrections. It is important to keep up with these because past questions WILL REPEAT, so past quizzes can help you study.
SECTION FIVE: READINGS AND WORK • Put your folder in this section to keep up with readings, class work, and homework. I suggest you keep ALL GRADED WORK until the END OF THE SEMESTER. I am human and I make mistakes- SOMETIMES (but rarely) I accidentally put in a zero when you’ve done the work. If you keep all your work, all you have to do is show me your paper with the grade on it.
KEEPING UP WITH YOUR BINDER • Each class will have a section of bookshelf to keep their binders so you don’t have to bring them back and forth. HOWEVER, I do suggest that if you have homework you remove your folder from your binder so you can work on that outside of class. JUST DON”T LOSE YOUR FOLDER.
NOTES • How you take notes is up to you- I suggest one of two ways • Outline style • Cornell Notes
