The URSS Mentor ✓ Can be communicated via the URSS portfolio ✓ Will provide feedback on your Portfolio posts (such as your action plan or profile page). ✓ Will advise you on how you are conducting your research, and support your development. ✓ Can signpost you to support or resources available here at Warwick.
The URSS Mentor cannot × Provide you advice on research itself – please consult your supervisor. × Discuss your URSS bursary or agreement with the URSS × Proof-read your work. × Meet in person to discuss your research – communication must take place on your portfolio. Please speak to the URSS team about any of these issues at urss@warwick. ac. uk

Reminder on your Outputs: Monday 10 th October 2016 ALL Portfolio posts to be completed Project abstract - Electronic copy of your poster – upload onto portfolio Hard copy of A 1 portrait poster – print via Warwick Print (automatic delivery), or print in department and hand deliver to Student Careers & Skills. We will be touch with more information over the summer.

Group work Time to break-out into groups and discuss the following: – – – Name Project Department General subject area of your research Why is it interesting to you? Why is it important to your discipline/area of knowledge?
Group work When listening to each other’s research projects, please note down the following: – The key similarities and differences in your peers’ approach to their research when comparing it to your research.
Examples of differences in approach Researching people? Systems? Natural Phenomenon? Philosophically based? Observable or conceptual? Using secondary data? Written questionnaires for participants? Controlled environment – lab?
