Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH Urban continued, expanded considerations from the TWG: • the institutional, political, environmental, legislative and social framework differences which we must be cognisant of as we transition to Urban WASH programming? • Tariffs and governance systems for Urban, what is our understanding, strategy and position? • ‘How we do’ as opposed to ‘what, where and when’. • Universalization of WASH (access for all), community processes & duty bearers, institutional structures, small private service providers (WSP’s). Regulatory frameworks. • Cash based assistance in Urban WASH, links to Urban DRR? • Innovation technology, mobile billing remote metering. Affordability for the poorest? • Urban sanitation all inclusive (wastewater/septage, solid waste, and vector control? ) • Should we include both hardware provision and software including CBM and/or support to WSP’s? www. ifrc. org Saving lives, changing minds.
Urban Consultancy, next steps: Federation Health WASH Wat. San/EH • Survey monkey to all RC/RC WASH focal points. • In-depth interviews with the TWG and IFRC WASH team. • Consultation with other external players/stakeholders. • Publications, case studies, reports and tools review. • Workshop with the TWG – go through preliminary findings (TBC venue and date likely October/November) • If progress is good – consider broadened TOR is appropriate. • Possible project Design working group formation. www. ifrc. org Saving lives, changing minds.
