LIHEAP can help you: Pay your main heating & cooling bills Who can get help? The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low income residents meet their immediate energy needs. It can mainly help those who spend a large amount of their household income on energy bills.
LIHEAP Federally funded program Low Income defined as 135% of the federal poverty level Winter season – October 1 to May 31, or until funds run out Summer season – June 1 to Sept 31, or until funds run out St. Louis City and Wellston
LIHEAP consist of 2 components Energy Assistance (EA) which provides a payment of up to $300 on a household’s primary heating source Emergency Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP) provides assistance of up to $800 in the winter and $300 in the summer to prevent disconnection or restore disconnected services
Applying for LIHEAP Required documents Social Security Verification Copy of Social Security Card for All Household members Income Verification Check Stubs Award Letter Utility Bills Winter – Current Gas and/or Electric Bill (if Gas is primary then Electric Bill must be a disconnection or final bill notice) Summer – Current Electric Disconnection Notice or Final Bill

Why Weatherize? Weatherization helps homes stay Warmer in the Winter and Cooler in the Summer Improve the Energy Efficiency of the Home Reduce Utility Bills Increase the Comfort, Health and Safety of the Home Weatherization repair program is not a home
The Weatherization Assistance Program services may include: Wall and Ceiling Insulation Sealing Air Leaks in the home Installing Weather Stripping Dryer Venting Glazing and Repairing Windows and Doors Performing Minor Duct Repair Hot Water Tank Repair Furnace Repair or Replacement
Weatherization Assistance Program Homeowners and Renters Picture ID / Identification for all occupants in the home/SS card, Birth certificate for children in the household SS Card for the applicant Proof of home ownership – Current month’s mortgage statement or Property Deed Proof of income for everyone in the household for previous 3 months– Including previous year’s tax return. Current Gas Bill Current Electric Bill
