IB Diploma Requirements q q q Complete Core Elements (TOK, CAS, EE) Take Three Higher Level and Three Standard Level Courses One Course (HL or SL) From Each Subject Group Each course two years in length, except in some cases students can choose to take one SL course in a single year. At North Hills the first year of IB courses are often integrated with AP courses.
Sample IB Diploma o o o English A 1 French B History of the Americas Biology Math Studies Visual Arts Higher Level Standard Level
EARNING THE IB DIPLOMA 42 Exam Points 3 Core Points 45 Total Points 24 Points to Receive Diploma
Earning the IB Diploma Ø Ø Ø Earning the IB DIPLOMA = 24 Points 4 / 7 points for each subject is passing. If you earn more than three 3 s, you do not receive the diploma. Also, students must achieve 12 points total in their HL classes to get the diploma. These facts alone make HL courses very important. If you achieve an E (elementary) in TOK or on the EE, then it is considered to be a failing condition (i. e. no diploma). Not enough CAS is also a failing condition (i. e. no diploma).
