Cryomodule Updates : -New compact RF valves study (new LHC standard which avoid the staging) -New RF bridge design on going (see next slide) -New Tuner Frame + double actuation pipes -New vacuum tank fully welded CRAB Cavity design team – CERN/UK
RF bridges (under validation) Inter-cavities Circular/Circular Cold-Warm Transition Circular/Octogonal Inter-cavities Octogonal/Octogonal Cold-Warm Transition Circular/Circular Updates : -4 configuration under design -1 prototype to be design and produced for validation tests (RF and mechanical) CRAB Cavity design team – CERN/UK
Vacuum vessel Updates : -New welded interfaces in order to reduce the work in case of dismantling -Remove rubber gaskets which couldn’t be repaired in the tunnel -New length (increase of cold/warm transition length and inter cavities length) -FSI ports with new location and CF flanges (metal gaskets) -Doors with rubber gasket, with the possibility to weld them if needed CRAB Cavity design team – CERN/UK
Next steps -Now that the design of the string assembly start to be well defined, we will be able to start looking with Edward the adaptation of trolley tools (chariot, support…) for clean room assembly and the assembly steps. -Validation of RF bridges, -Make the detailed design of the octagonal beam screen, -Design the cryogenic safety system and detail the jumper, -Preliminary design of magnetic shield (warm) and thermal screen (Pierre-François is finalizing the cryomodule assembly with the last components) CRAB Cavity design team – CERN/UK
