UPCOMING TESTBEAMS using Kartel Judith Andrej Goriek J

UPCOMING TESTBEAMS (using Kartel + Judith) Andrej Gorišek++ J. Stefan Institute, Ljubljana CERN, 7/11/2013

Introduction In the last beamtest (DESY April 2013) Kartel + Judith were tested and proven to be effective choice for a beamtest measurement Robust system capable of linking together different datataking systems with a means of a simple NIM triggering logic Software very light – analysis can be performed on a standard PC within minutes (for a 1 M trigger run) CERN, 7/11/2013 ATLAS DB FW A. Software – Judith Well written (slightly less well documented – might improve in the future) package freely available (contact: garrin. mcgoldrick@cern. ch or andrej. gorisek@cern. ch) Presented at HSTD 9 in Hiroshima in September, write-up available soon in NIM CERN, 7/11/2013 ATLAS DB FW A. Fermilab We plan to travel there with Kartel and DBM/DPIX/… detectors in spring 2014 Writing a proposal, aka. Technical Scope of Work (TSW) – will take a while… CERN, 7/11/2013 ATLAS DB FW A. Gorišek 7

CERN Call sent around last week (DL: December 15) Plan to resume user schedule in end of October 2014 for ~2 months Preliminary: CERN, 7/11/2013 ATLAS DB FW A. Gorišek 8

DESY, … Relatively low energy (up to 5 Ge. V) A lot of multiple scattering Probably not useful for measuring the whole DBM telescope but excellent infrastructure! Backup for late 2014 CERN beamtest? CERN, 7/11/2013 ATLAS DB FW A. Gorišek 9
