Big Idea: Despite the sin of His creations, God remains steadfast in His covenant love. Despite the sin of Jesus’ disciples, he sacrificially offers Himself forgiveness of sins.
DESPITE OUR SIN, GOD’S SOVEREIGN PLAN OF SALVATION IS ACCOMPLISHED
Luke 22: 25– 27 And he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors. But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves. For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves. • •
• Psalm 41: 7 -9 All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me. They say, “A deadly thing is poured out on him; he will not rise again from where he lies. ” Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me. • •
