Senter for vitenskapsteori The monitoring/evaluation activities serve various purposes • Accompanying and assisting project activities: Process/formative evaluation/ongoing assessment • Documenting and assessing outcomes and impacts of project activities, to produce project results • Producing indicators or monitoring frameworks to be used by regional/territorial actors, as means to implement RRI and hence a project output • Responding to the call requirement «Contribute to one or more of the Mo. RRI indicators and to SDGs…»

RRI indicators were not developed with territorial RRI in mind EXAMPLE: PE 2 is an indicator based on responses to the Eurobarometer on RRI: - What is the level of involvement citizens should have when it comes to decisions made about science and technology? Response categories: • citizens do not need to be involved or informed • citizens should only be informed • citizens should be consulted and their opinions should be considered • citizens should participate and have an active role • citizens’ opinions should be binding • don’t know. The indicator reports the share of citizens at the national level expressing a preference for active participation. The indicator is calculated as a mean national score aggregated from a representative sample of citizens by country.
