To contribute to the creation of an important tool in order to provide students, university teachers and people in general with the information related to Universidad Mayor de San Andrés inside the country and abroad. LIMITATION OF THE WORK Ø The GUIDED WORK was carried out in La Paz city in the UMSATIC program facilities located at Laws and Political Sciences Faculty. Ø The translation work involved all the academic, administrative and institutional available information that was assigned to each participant by the coordinator of the Umsatic program. All the guided work was developed over eight months. SCOPE OF THE WORK This guided work will contribute to the spreading of the UMSA information in the English language which is spoken at a worldwide level.

Una de las alternativas era en la zona de Obrajes en la Clínica de COMIBOL. A pesar de que los compañeros mineros nos estaban apoyando hubo cierto mal entendido en sentido de que la Carrera se iba a apoderarse de esos espacios. One of the alternatives was the COMIBOL hospital in Obrajes. Although the mining partners were supporting them there was a misunderstanding. In order to avoid problems the alternative was rejected and the search for other building continued.

El primer director de este Colegio fue don José Joaquin Mora, a cuya ausencia desapareció el Colegio. El Instituto creado en 1917 contó con cuatro secciones: Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas, Ciencias Naturales y Química, Historia y Geografía, Filosofía y Letras y subsistió hasta la época de la semiautonomía universitaria en que fue radicalmente suprimido.

The first director of this School was Mr. Jose Joaquin Mora and when he left it the school disappeared. The Institute created in 1917 had four sections: Physics and Mathematics sciences, Natural and Chemistry Science, History and Geography, Philosophy and Letters. It subsisted until semiautonomy of the university when it was radically suppressed.

The “Instituto Normal Superior” created in 1917 which already existed for a short period of time with four areas of studies: Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Natural and Chemical Sciences, History and Geography, Philosophy and Letters that worked until the university semi-autonomy, period in which was banned completely.
