First School of Cosmic Rays and Astrophysics August 9 th – 20 th, 2004

First School of Cosmic Rays and Astrophysics August 9 th – 20 th, 2004 – La Paz, Bolivia Objective This School aims to provide a comprehensive overview of theoretical and experimental aspects of Cosmic Ray Physics and Astrophysics. Lecture topics include topics such as solar physics, primary spectrum and composition of cosmic rays, high-energy interactions, gamma ray astronomy and GRBs, neutrino astrophysics, cosmic ray detectors, simulation, magnetic monopoles and present status of the Auger Project. We intend this School could be the first of a series devoted to the field of Cosmic Ray Physics to be held every two years at different Latin-American countries.

First School of Cosmic Rays and Astrophysics August 9 th – 20 th, 2004

First School of Cosmic Rays and Astrophysics August 9 th – 20 th, 2004 – La Paz, Bolivia To Professor Luis Masperi This school is dedicated to the memory of Professor Luis Masperi who passed away last year, in Bariloche. As the director of CLAF (Centro Latinoamericano de Física), he promoted the organization of this event, and many others in all Latinamerica. He was engaged in countless activities that aimed to improve Latinamerican science and humankind in general. All of us will remember him as a great person and a helpfull friend.
