In fact, Lowen believes that the idea that men want skinny women is only something that we see on TV, but it is not actually true. For example, when I was watching my favorite show last week “Gossip Girls, ” I noticed that all the women were very skinny; however, when I go to school I can clearly see that none of the girls at CIB are actually this skinny. Furthermore, Lowen argues that men actually like larger women. In her article she wrote, “Over 71% of the male population said that they actually prefer a more voluptuous woman. ” A personal experience I have to further illustrate Lowen’s quote is the relationship with my own boyfriend. My boyfriend told me that one of the main reasons he decided to be with me is because I had a lot of meat on my bones.
