Payment of wages act The payment of wages act passed in 1936 to regulate the payment of wages to certain classes of persons employed in industry. It is essentially meant for benefit of industrial employee not getting very high salary.

Definitions Any remigrations payable under any awarded or settlement between the parties or order of a court. Any remuneration to which the person employed is entitled in respect of overtime work or holidays or any leave period.
