Adonijah’s Request • David Dies – I Kings 2: 10 -12 • Adonijah comes to Bathsheba • Bathsheba goes into her son • Makes a request that Abishag be given to Adonijah • Solomon Reacts (I Kings 2: 22)

Abiathar sent Home • Solomon tells Abiathar to go to Anathoth • Abiathar went with Adonijah during the rebellion • Abiathar being removed from High Priest (shared) fulfills God’s prophecy • Abiathar was from Ithamar, Zadok from Eleazar (I Chron. 24: 1 -3)

Shimei’s Agreement • Solomon moves Shimei to Jerusalem • Agreed that Shimei would not cross over the brook Kidron or he would die • Three (3) years pass and Shimei leaves to get his servants who went to Gath • Benaiah sent to execute Shimei

Psalm 19 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Thoughts • Decisiveness of Solomon • Was warned by David of those who had caused trouble and Solomon didn’t ignore these issues • Fulfilling the Law of God • Don’t forget about the phrase “Inquired of the Lord”
