Unit One – Use Modal Verbs Grade 11 - English A modal auxiliary verb gives information about the function of the main verb that it governs, modal auxiliary verbs show Possibility, Show intention, Ability, Obligation, Willingness to do an act. As well the negative takes accordingly. 3
