Building the Base Tolerance is a fair and objective view of those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, and nationality differ from your own. Intolerance is an unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds Acceptance is favorable reception, approval, or favor. Prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.
Building the base… Victim – An individual or individuals who are attacked or mistreated because of their views or beliefs (Jews) Perpetrator – An individual or individuals who act out on intolerance with hatred through words or actions (Nazi) Bystander – an individual or individuals whom are witnesses to bigotry, but do nothing to stop it (German citizens) Upstander – an individual or individuals whom challenge bigotry through their words or actions
