II. Adverb clauses of reason (as, because, since) Example: I can’t go to the movies. It is raining. I can’t go to the movies because it is raining. I can’t go to the movies as it is raining. I can’t go to the movies since it is raining. Exercise 2: Join the pairs of sentences together. Use because, as or since.

III. Adjective + that clause: Example: My parents are pleased. I do well at school. My parents are pleased that I do well at school. - That clause/ Noun clause can be use with adjectives expressing emotion, anxiety, confidence : pleased, excited, sorry, disappointed, amazed, afraid, glad. . . Exercise 3: Complete the dialogues. Use the words in brackets.
