Some Guidelines for a Successful Day! ü You are collecting data for your GCSE

Some Guidelines for a Successful Day! ü You are collecting data for your GCSE investigation. The rest of your class will be relying on you to collect accurate and meaningful data on the part of the town that you work in, as you will all be sharing some of the data. You need to collect accurate and reliable data, otherwise the maps and graphs that we draw will not show any meaningful patterns. This will affect your overall mark! ü Look after this, your Data Collection Booklet. You will be expected to hand it in completed at the end of the day and you will obviously need it when you get back to school, to share your data with the rest of the class. ü Read the instructions and guidance given carefully, if you are unsure of what to do. ü For certain activities you may wish to split your group (briefly) to work more efficiently. However bear in mind that you need to stay in groups of at least two/three at all times and you should know where the rest of your group is and have a time and place to meet back together to exchange data, before you hand in your booklets. ü Should you lose your bearings, there is a map at the back of this booklet to help you to find your way. Alternatively in an emergency contact on the front page. ü Finally, please remember that whilst you are out, you are representatives of Sherburn High School and it’s Geography department, but most importantly of yourselves. – conduct yourselves in a way that you, your parents and teachers can be proud of. If you should have any reason to speak to any members of the public, remember to be very polite and leave people with the best possible impression.
