Your rationale clearly specifies the link between your specialist study topic and your FMP. You have shown a good awareness of the professions of journalists and bloggers as two contrasting modes of communicating with audiences. You could have discussed in more detail these two perspectives on journalistic practice. You have clearly communicated how this study will develop your FMP work – your own practice. Pass: x Literature Review You have reviewed a range of research sources in detail commenting on reliability and usefulness for your specialist study. The first source reviewed seems to lack a definite relevance to your specialist study. I can imagine it being a useful source for an article you might write about Altzheimers, but not so relevant to develop your understanding of how charities use human interest stories to promote themselves. As such, you should have evaluated the source as not very useful to you for the purpose of writing your specialist study essay. Your bibliography has developed since you wrote the proposal. Your essay is based on relevant and focussed research. You have supported most of your points with references, although there are gaps. For example, you do not state clearly who or what your primary source was. You have articulated your findings and linked them to your aoms effectively. You have identified key ways in human interest stories enhance a charity's engagement with audiences and their efforts in fundraising. A clearer discussion of what a human interest story is would have added more depth. Specialist Study essay: You have effectively applied academic conventions in the structure of your essay and language and syntax you have employed in your essay. You have used paragraphing appropriately and have introduced and concluded your essay effectively. Good use of Harvard Referencing through the main body of the essay and the bibliography.
