Testable Question �A question that can be verified through repeated experiments or the purpose of an experiment. � Example: �Which airplane will fly further, one with a weight added or one without?
Prediction �A statement about what will happen or might happen in the future �Example: I predict that it will rain tomorrow.
Prototype/Model �A three-dimensional representation of something �Ex: model cars or airplanes
Data �Facts or information usually used to calculate, analyze or plan something �Ex: charts, graphs, tables
Quantitative Data �Measurable data – usually in the form of numbers �Ex: The picture is 8” x 10”. �Sizes, lengths, distances, quantities
Qualitative Data �Descriptive �Ex: or categorical data. The picture has green and blue in it.
Investigation �A searching inquiry for ascertaining facts; detailed or careful examination
Evidence � The which tends to prove or disprove something
Trials �A tentative or experimental action in order to ascertain results; experiment
Variable � Capable of being changed; deviating from the usual type
Accuracy/Precision � True, correct, or exact measurements
Replicate � To repeat, duplicate, or reproduce, especially for experimental purposes
Inferences � The process of arriving at some conclusion that comes from logical consequences
Technology � Anything that can be used to assist with an experiment, usually electronic
Control � Unchanged part of an experiment
Analyze � Examine in detail, typically for purposes of explanation and interpretation; look at data to draw conclusions
