INTRODUCTION • Unilever are sponsoring a unique ‘employer award’ for 1 st year undergraduate University of Sheffield Management School students • For the chance to win the award, you will have to submit an analysis based around a Unilever advertising campaign • The winner will receive an insight day at Unilever HQ, in addition to personal business mentoring by a current Unilever employee

ESSAY QUESTION Identify a Unilever deodorant (Sure, Lynx or Dove) marketing campaign in the UK and provide a 1000 word analysis. Within your analysis include the following points: • Summarise who you think the campaign is targeted at, and what the campaign’s objectives might have been • Analyse the campaign’s strengths and weaknesses based on the target group and objectives you have identified • Present some recommendations (e. g. how to target the group more effectively, how to target new groups, what additional advertising or promotions would have enhanced the campaign? ) • Include any visual examples of the campaign you have chosen (e. g. screen shot, scanned imagine of newspaper/magazine article. ) to help convey your ideas You will be marked on the quality and originality of your analysis and to the extent to which your essay embodies the values of Unilever and the brand. PRIZE The winner will receive: • A personalised insight day at Unilever HQ in Leatherhead, Surrey during the summer holiday, with travel expenses • Ongoing business mentoring by a current employee to give advice about employability, CV’s, assessment centres and interviews • The award will also be featured on the winner’s academic record and read out at their graduation ceremony
