Overview • AFJROTC cadets wear the same basic uniform as Active Duty personnel •

Overview • AFJROTC cadets wear the same basic uniform as Active Duty personnel • All cadets should wear the uniform properly with honor and pride • AFJROTC cadets will follow uniform standards published in AFI 36 -2903, Dress and Appearance of Air Force Personnel, AFJROTCI 36 -2010, Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, AFJROTC Operational Supplement and the Cadet Guide. • Cadets are responsible for maintaining all uniform items in a clean and orderly condition 2

Restrictions • Cadets may not wear the uniform while hitchhiking, in student demonstrations, for crowd control, political events, or for any other inappropriate activity • Military personnel are prohibited from publicly supporting a particular candidate, party, or political issue while in uniform or when it is clear to others that they are members of the US military ‒ Public perception regarding the allegiance of military members to the Commander in Chief is critical ‒ As private citizens, military members are encouraged to vote and participate in our democratic process as long as they are not in uniform and do not identify themselves as military members ‒ Cadets should also follow this standard while in uniform 3

Standard Cadet Uniform (w/Care Instructions) • Dark blue service coat and trousers – DRY CLEAN ONLY! • Light blue long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt – WASH AT HOME • Dark blue tie (males) or tie tab (females) – DRY CLEAN ONLY! • Blue elastic belt with silver (chrome) tip/buckle – SPOT CLEAN • Blue flight cap – DO NOT FOLD; DRY CLEAN ONLY! • White undershirt – WASH AT HOME • Black socks – WASH AT HOME • Black leather oxford shoes – WIPE CLEAN, THEN SHINE 5

Male Accouterments • Undershirt ‒ A white, V-neck, athletic tank top or crew-neck style undershirt must be worn with the long-sleeve blue shirt • Socks ‒ Plain black socks (no design) will be worn with the cadet uniform ‒ Plain white socks may be worn under the black socks as long as the white socks are not visible 16
