What is…? � UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization is a Specialized Agency founded in 1945 at the end of World War II. � Goals of contributing to peace and security were born thru development of Int’l collaborations in Education, Science, and Culture. � With in the HQs in Paris, UNESCO has 195 Member States and 8 Associated Members. It also includes 52 field offices as well as 11 Institutes in the world.

KNCU is… � Korea was 55 th country to become a member. � After suffering ravages of devastating Korean War needed outside help. UNESCO contributed to establishing a factory for printing of primary school � Textbooks. � KNCU established on 30 Jan. 1954, and carrying out its various functions for acting as a facilitator for UNESCO’s overall goals. � KNCU is also committed to creating partnerships and networking with not only governments and other international and intergovernmental organizations, but with civil society and the private sector.
