Undulator Commissioning We adopted the plan that initial Undulator beamline commissioning to the electron dump would be done without Undulator magnets on the girders. 1. Commission the line at 30 Hz with minimal risk to the Undulator magnets. 1. Commissioning includes the BLM MPS system. 2. Commissioning includes BBA. 3. Install 2 Undulator magnets per shift when ready. 6/17/08 FAC Review 2 D. Schultz DCS@SLAC. Stanford. edu
Undulator Translation Stops In-position limits: (current plan) 7. 0 mm hard stop 6. 5 mm emergency shut-off 6. 0 mm reversing switch 5. 75 mm PV limit (software) (0. 0 mm = nominal beam center) ± 2. 5 mm good field region requires >3. 75 mm clearance 6/17/08 FAC Review 3 D. Undulator Vacuum Interference Estimate ~2 mm clearance, 2. 0 -1. 25 mm usable range. 6/17/08 FAC Review 4 D. Schultz DCS@SLAC. Stanford. edu
Girder Assembly Girder assembly is under way. We need to set the stops on the girders now. Any Undulator is mountable on any girder. Plan: Set all girders’ stops to the values on slide 3 Re-shim all undulators for full travel ~24 Undulators RFI by 3/1/09 33 Undulators RFI by 6/1/09 6/17/08 FAC Review 5 D. Schultz DCS@SLAC.
