Workshop 1: Question Paper Question 1 Question 2 Map Interpretation Question 3 Gathering & Processing Techniques 20 marks 10 Marks Questions will assess • mapping skills techniques • the KU of gathering and • map interpretation processing/presenting • the ability to use map techniques in the context of evidence to support & justify a research/fieldwork, response. • the analysis/evaluation of gathered & processed data Geographical Data Handling 1: 25 000 map, tracing overlay, supplementary items Supplementary items 1: 25 000 map 20 marks Questions will assess • the KU of geographical skills & techniques (statistical, graphical & cartographical) • The evaluation of geographical skills & techniques • the interpretation and analysis of a given set (s) of data.

Advanced Higher Question Paper Purpose To demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and understanding from ACROSS the Advanced Higher Course in terms of a wide range of geographical methods, techniques and skills within appropriate contexts. Format The Question Paper will always have a constant mark allocation in terms of Mapping skill, Gathering/Processing Skills/Data Handling skills. HOWEVER, questions may focus individually on each of these or it may vary (see Course/Unit Support Notes page 44 for possible variations) There will be no optional questions ie candidates must answer all questions in the Question Paper.
