This is extremely convenient and means they can get expert opinions or breaking news on the ground without having the person in the studio

INTERVIEWING • To get the most out of a story the news programme sometimes will sometimes interview an eye witness or an expert on the subject that they are talking about, this can take place in the studio or other locations , sometimes on the site of the event.

MODE OF ADDRESS • The mode of address is how a news reader or reporter speaks to the viewers , there are several modes of address these include • Direct – using words such as “you” • Indirect – using phrases like “public” or “people” • Formal – this is a more conservative way to address the viewer and means they wont really use a direct or indirect approach but will rather just report the facts • Informal – this mode of address is more relaxed and sounds more like a conversation than an actual report.

EXPERTS AND EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS • The news programme will usually bring in an expert to give a more in depth look into the subject they are talking about, this expert can be present in the studio or can be contacted via link to the studio • An eye witness is usally someone on the ground who has seen an event or been part of an event and will be interviewed to tell the reporter their side of the story

STRUCTURE • This is how the news report is laid out and usually follows a distinct formula • The headline which is the part of the news report that will catch the attention of the audience • Then the meat of the story which will give the audience all the facts of the event in question , this will also include some back round facts to give a broader picture to the audience • Then to finish give any recent updates to the story
