Und doch hatte sie kurz vor Harrys Geburt jenen Satz gesagt, der damals die ganze Geschichte auslöste und bis zum Schluss vorantreibt: … and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives …

Programm 1. Divination … and Prophecy ? Figuren-Charakterisierung Sybill Trelawney 2. ?

1. Divination … and Prophecy ? Figuren-Charakterisierung Sybill Trelawney “If being good at Divination means I have to pretend to see death omens in a lump of tea leaves, I’m not sure I’ll be studying it much longer! That lesson was absolute rubbish compared with my Arithmancy class!” (Hermione, PA 6)

1. Divination … and Prophecy ? Figuren-Charakterisierung Sybill Trelawney “Divination is one of the most imprecise branches of magic. I shall not conceal from you that I have very little patience with it. True Seers are very rare, and Professor Trelawney —” (Mc. Gonagall, PA 6)

1. Divination … and Prophecy ? Figuren-Charakterisierung Sybill Trelawney “ … was she making a real prediction? ” Dumbledore looked mildly impressed. “Do you know, Harry, I think she might have been, ” he said thoughtfully. “Who’d have thought it? That brings her total of real predictions up to two. I should offer her a pay raise. . ” (Dumbeldore, nachdem Harry ihm von Sybills wahr gewordener Prophezeiung über Pettigrew erzählte, PA 22)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 1 “Well. . . Voldemort said that he only killed my mother because she tried to stop him from killing me. But why would he want to kill me in the first place? ” Dumbledore sighed very deeply this time. “Alas, the first thing you ask me, I cannot tell you. Not today. Not now. You will know, one day. . . put it from your mind for now, Harry. When you are older. . . I know you hate to hear this. . . when you are ready, you will know. ” And Harry knew it would be no good to argue. (Schlussdialog, Ph. S 17)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 5 • “The Weapon” im “Department of Mysteries” • am Schluss zeigt sich: Es ist “the prophesy” • “Voldemort tried to kill you when you were a child because of a prophecy made shortly before your birth. ” • “It means – me? ” • “He chose you, not Neville. He gave you the scar that marked you as his equal. ” • “He heard only the first part, the part foretelling the birth of a boy in July to parents who had thrice defied Voldemort …” (OPh 37)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 5 • Voldemort never knew that there might be danger in attacking you, …. He did not know that you would have ‘power the Dark Lord knows not’ —”. • “But I don’t!” said Harry in a strangled voice. “I haven’t any powers he hasn’t got, I couldn’t fight the way he did tonight, I can’t possess people, or — or kill them —” • “There is a room in the Department of Mysteries, ” interrupted Dumbledore, “that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. • That power took you to save Sirius tonight. That power also saved you from possession by Voldemort, because he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests. In the end, it mattered not that you could not close your mind. It was your heart that saved you. ” (OPh 37)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 5 • “So, ” said Harry … , “so does that mean that. . . that one of us has got to kill the other one. . . in the end? ” “Yes, ” said Dumbledore. For a long time, neither of them spoke. • “I feel I owe you another explanation, Harry, ” said Dumbledore hesitantly. “You may, perhaps, have wondered why I never chose you as a prefect? I must confess. . . that I rather thought. . . you had enough responsibility to be going on with. ” Harry looked up at him and saw a tear trickling down Dumbledore’s face into his long silver beard. (OPh 37)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 6 • Dumbledore gibt Harry Einzelunterricht: (HBP 10) “Sir, ” said Harry tentatively, “does what you’re going to tell me have anything to do with the prophecy? Will it help me … survive? ” “It has a very great deal to do with the prophecy, ” said Dumbledore, … , “and I certainly hope that it will help you to survive. ” • Voldemort machte Horcruxe: durch Morde hergestellte Seelensplitter Voldemorts, die ihn für den Tod unerreichbar machen sollen • Harry sat in thought for a moment, then asked, “So if all of his Horcruxes are destroyed, Voldemort could be killed? ” “Yes, I think so, ” said Dumbledore. “Without his Horcruxes Voldemort will be a mortal man with a maimed and diminished soul. (HBP 23)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 7 “Three objects, or Hallows, which, if united, will make the possessor master of Death. . . Master. . . Conqueror. . . Vanquisher. . . The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. . . And he saw himself, possessor of the Hallows, facing Voldemort, whose Horcruxes were no match. . . Neither can live while the other survives. . . Was this the answer? Hallows versus Horcruxes? (Harry in Gedanken über die Heiligtümer des Todes, DH 22)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 7 “The Prince’s Tale” Nach Severus Snapes Tod erfährt Harry …

“Tell him that on the night Lord Voldemort tried to kill him, when Lily cast her own life between them as a shield, the Killing Curse rebounded upon Lord Voldemort, and a frag-ment of Voldemort’s soul was blasted apart from the whole, and latched itself onto the only living soul left in that collapsing building. Part of Lord Voldemort lives inside Harry … And while that fragment of soul … remains attached to and protected by Harry, Lord Voldemort cannot die. ” (DH 33)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ “So the boy. . . the boy must die? ” asked Snape quite calmly. “And Voldemort himself must do it, Severus. That is essential. ” Another long silence. Then Snape said, “I thought. . . all these years. . . that we were protecting him for her. For Lily. ” “We have protected him because it has been essential to teach him, to raise him, to let him try his strength, ” said Dumbledore, his eyes still tight shut. … If I know him, he will have arranged matters so that when he does set out to meet his death, it will truly mean the end of Voldemort. ” Dumbledore opened his eyes. Snape looked horrified. “You have kept him alive so that he can die at the right moment? … you have been raising him like a pig for slaughter —” (DH 33)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 7 Harrys “Getsemane”-Stunde “Finally, the truth. … Harry understood at last that he was not supposed to survive. His job was to walk calmly into Death’s welcoming arms. Along the way, he was to dispose of Voldemort’s remaining links to life, … Neither would live, neither could survive. (DH 34)

“But you’re dead, ” said Harry. “Oh yes, ” said Dumbledore matter-of-factly. “Then. . . I’m dead too? ” “Ah, ” said Dumbledore, smiling still more broadly. “That is the question, isn’t it? On the whole, dear boy, I think not. ” (DH 35)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ “I let him kill me, ” said Harry. “Didn’t I? ” “You did, ” said Dumbledore, nodding. “Go on!” “So the part of his soul that was in me. . . ” Dumbledore nodded still more enthusiastically, urging Harry onward, a broad smile of encouragement on his face. “. . . has it gone? ” “Oh yes!” said Dumbledore. “Yes, he destroyed it. Your soul is whole, and completely your own, Harry. ” (DH 35)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ “But if Voldemort used the Killing Curse, ” Harry started again, “and nobody died for me this time — how can I be alive? ” “I think you know, ” said Dumbledore. … Harry thought … And then the answer rose to his lips easily, without effort. “He took my blood, ” said Harry. “Precisely!” said Dumbledore. “He took your blood and rebuilt his living body with it! Your blood in his veins, Harry, Lily’s protection inside both of you! He tethered you to life while he lives!” “I live. . . while he lives? But I thought. . . I thought it was the other way round! I thought we both had to die? Or is it the same thing? ” (DH 35)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ “You were the seventh Horcrux, Harry, the Horcrux he never meant to make. … He took your blood believing it would strengthen him. He took into his body a tiny part of the enchantment your mother laid upon you when she died for you. His body keeps her sacrifice alive, and while that enchantment survives, so do you and so does Voldemort’s one last hope for himself. ” Dumbledore smiled at Harry, and Harry stared at him. “And you knew this? You knew — all along? ” “I guessed. But my guesses have usually been good, ” said Dumbledore happily (DH 35)

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ Band 7 „Tell me one last thing, “ said Harry. „Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head? “ … „Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real? “ (DH 35)

There are no more Horcruxes. It’s just you and me. Neither can live while the other survives, and one of us is about to leave for good. . ” “One of us? ” jeered Voldemort, and his whole body was taut and his red eyes stared, a snake that was about to strike …

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ … either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. . .

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ … either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. . . Erste Bedeutung: am Ende wird einer der beiden anderen töten Die Frage ist, wer der Sieger sein wird … die Horcrux-Jagd soll ermöglichen, dass Harry eine Chance hat … Zweite Bedeutung: am Ende werden beide durch die Hand des je anderen sterben Harry muss sein Leben opfern, weil er ein Horcrux ist … andere werden dann – vielleicht – Voldmort töten können

3. Exegese: Worte, die „mitgehen“ … either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives. . . Dritte Bedeutung: “the other way round … the same thing? ” der eine überlebt, solange der andere lebt: „I live. . . while he lives…“ Was Voldemort töten konnte, als Harry sich opferte, war sein eigener Seelensplitter in Harry …
