UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) Voice Comms • Voice communications between the FVEY partners operating from sim facilities for FST-J 20 -72 (see Notes Section) – Last Known State of Comms: never been done before from TTGP DIS Voice to CP-140 Aurora • Canada: which ships/naval facilities are in play? – What has been tested to date that will be a part of FST-J 20 -72? • NSWC Corona has tested voice • But… there’s more to do (follow on slides – Are the US, Canada, & Australia able to communicate with all using Allied Crypto enabled real/sim radios today? – Does a separate testing venue need to be set up? • If yes, when should that be? UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) Chat • Communications (Chat): (see Notes Section) – Have we had a good three-way test between U. S. , Canadian sites, and Australian sites using Same. Time Connect? • TTGP believes it has not been tested – If not, what hurdles have been identified/require further testing? – When can that testing be scheduled? – Is a work-around required to mitigate the chat hurdle that doesn’t involve Same. Time Connect chat? • Hex Chat – replacing MAKO chat (IRC-based) – see next slide UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) 6

UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) Information Sharing & KM • Has Collaboration At Sea (CAS)access been gained by Canadian sites? • Can the Canadian teams pull data from CAS exercise sites here at TTGP? At other locations to include AUS Mo. D/RAN/RAAF? • Are Canadian sites capable of posting their own data on CAS and can other countries pull data from Canadian sites? • If no to any of the above, what work-arounds have been identified/proposed? UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) Other • DIS Simulation Testing (Mr. Lepard): – All DIS (simulation and voice) traffic flowed well. – There will be the usual enumeration, damage and terrain correlation issues. – Some fidelity limitations; certain interactions either weren't handled by both sides or didn't make it through CAN CDS • Mostly countermeasures and underwater warfare (active sonar or detailed propulsion information) – Relatively recent move to version of NTB (5. 3. 36 I think) so some of the issues will hopefully be easier to solve. • Tactical Datalink (Mr. Lepard): – Most TDL traffic flowed well; however Current (old) CDS doesn’t pass ASW-related trk info (J 5. 4). UNCLASSIFIED (FOUO) Other • Tactical Datalink (Mr. Lepard/continued) – In the process of updating to a newer CDS, but • Has not been approved for use yet and timeline unsure. • A number of other issues are supposed to be fixed, may not fix ASW tracks. • VOIP (Mr. Lepard): – Worked well, however limited by only being able to directly dial USN numbers, and not others on the NETTN • JTEN firewall @ JFJ 7(Mr. Lepard): – Takes at least 1 - 3 days to make sure we can exchange all types of traffic. – Positive: VOIP traffic is always allowed through, even outside of exercises, personnel can be reached as necessary.
