UNC Chapel Hill International Friendship Program International Friendships are Bridges to Understanding An American host is ready to welcome you to UNC-Chapel Hill The International Friendship Program is designed to match an international student or a scholar with a local family or individual with whom he or she can visit, enjoy an occasional meal, celebrate holidays, participate in community events, and simply enjoy the exchange of international friendships. This program makes available a rewarding and enjoyable cultural exchange between local individuals or families and international students or scholars. The separation from family and familiar culture patterns can be a difficult and frustrating experience. An American host can help you with adjustment to your new life here in Chapel Hill by helping you find useful local resources, introducing you to community events, sharing friendships, and welcoming you with warm American hospitality. International Friendship Program is a UNC-CH program. Proselytizing is strictly prohibited. A host is not responsible for housing, financial, immigration, or academic problems.
