United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) launched on 1 January Opportunity 2017 following the requirement in the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review to establish a single provider of government National Security Vetting Services. The Process The Person The Role It brought together the well respected vetting organisations of the Defence Business Services National Security Vetting, and Foreign and Commonwealth Services National Security Vetting. UKSV has a mandate to establish a single vetting database, portable vetting and standardised pricing across government. UKSV aims to operate as a highly efficient and customer focused organisation.

The DV team is responsible for processing DV applications from across UKSV’s diverse customer base. The team currently comprises nearly 100 people across two sites (York and Milton Keynes), at grades from Administrative Officer to Grade 7. The DV team promotes a wide range of training and development opportunities, helping staff to identify suitable progression routes and The Role supporting them in pursuing development. About The Role Description Benefits The role of a Case Officer involves case management and assessment of Developed Vetting (DV) applications for National Security Vetting. We are looking for Case Officers to assist UKSV Vetting Operations in delivering key and customer targets, by contributing to the analysis of enquiries Opportunity • The Process The Person requirements and local instructions. The Role which enable them and Senior Vetting Managers to make a decision in accordance with Cabinet Office and MOD/OGD policy guidelines, customer As a Case Officer you will: Assess complex vetting cases and decide whether identified risks can be successfully mitigated, making use of the Vetting Decision Framework. • Provide written recommendations and decisions about how to progress a case. • Manage your own queues for each of the above areas. • Refer to appropriate channels in respect of higher risk cases. • Be an effective team player.
