Committees UH System Enrollment Management • System team was tasked with putting together a collective Enrollment Management plan at the request of the Board of Regents • Subcommittees worked on portions of the plan • Separate committee was convened to research Enrollment Management strategies UHCC Enrollment Management • On March 2, 2017, at a joint VCAA/VCSA Meeting, Enrollment Management was discussed • VCAA/VCSA volunteered to serve as part of the committee • VCAA: John, Della, Karen, Joni • VCSA: Brenda, Lara, Amy, Curtis, Debra, Isaiah
Plans • Committee agreed that we would share a common template that campuses would use to develop enrollment management strategies • Several drafts of the template were shared with the committee, and common language was agreed upon • The committee recognized that enrollment management and related strategies fall under the Student Success Pathways work that has already been done and continues
Implementation • Each campus agreed to work on development of campus-based Enrollment Management plans • At the March 2017 meeting, it was agreed that campuses would begin specific Enrollment Management meetings starting Fall 2017 • Campuses can opt to structure themselves differently, but focus will remain on the goals and targets as submitted in the UHCC Enrollment Management plan
Goals & Targets by 2021 ○ ○ ○ Increase high school graduates direct entry by 64. 29% Increase GED recipients by 37. 18% Increase Pacific Islanders by 37. 18% Increase working age (25 -44) adults by 75. 48% Increase international students by 22. 63% Tied to UHCC Strategic Plan and UH Strategic Plan
Campaigns – Campus Based ○ Enrollment Management Committees ○ Non-Credit Registration Inquiries Follow up ○ First Year Experience working with specific academic departments to open sections ○ Various Summer Bridge Programs - 3 Pasefika Pipeline, TRi. O, Lunalilo Scholars, Kapo‘oloku Peer Mentors ○ Marketing Efforts & Alignment ○ Reach Out Campaign ○ Calling Campaign, students registered for Spring, at 70% completion and not registered for Fall, 229 students ○ Campaign for continuing students not yet registered for Fall without holds on account, roughly 1200+ ○ Continued follow up with 100% completers who did not petition to graduate ○ Kūloa‘a Pilot Project, Title III – 119 DS hold for Native Hawaiians, 77 still to make a payment, 13 owe less than $522

Efforts continued… ○ Radio Ads ○ 24 spots on KFVE, Hawaii News Now and syndicated programs during primetime between July 20 -August 1 st. We will be airing the Culinary, "Your Move" and the Nursing videos. ○ Radio - 94. 7 KUMU - 80 x 30 seconds on the radio and 80 x 30 seconds streaming online, 102. 7 Da Bomb - 100 x 30 seconds on radio, 100 x 30 seconds streaming online. In addition, 2 pre-recorded interviews - 1 minute each at Da Bomb and KUMU featuring No‘eau. ○ Google ad words ○ Social Media - Messages on KCC's Facebook and Instagram ○ Flyers & Inserts ○ Videos ○ Master Calendar
UHCC System Based Efforts ○ Integrated Communication for Recruitment and Retention Calendar ○ Time is Running Out postcard x 2 – 1, 181 ○ Continuing students, not registered ○ Continuing students, purged, holds, not registered [after Purge, July 21 st] ○ Starfish x 2 ○ Custom email message via Starfish for students with Holds – 1482, 89 cleared & registered holds ○ Custom email message via Starfish for students who are new, not yet registered – 1, 851
Star GPS Survey Findings Why do students take the time off? "Too much stress" used to be on the top, now "Too expensive" to the top for the reason 1. Too expensive 2. Others (please refer to the comment to the attached file for details) 3. Too much stress 4. Need to get a full time job 5. Have some fun doing more stuff What can the home campus improve? 1. Cut the cost of college 2. Allow part time students to qualify for financial aid 3. Offer more courses in evening, weekends or summer 4. More programs 5. Affordable financial loans
