Automated monitoring, management and pre-diagnosis system for patients witch cardiac diseases This proposal aims at expanding an already existing and functioning application for telemonitoring the patients with cardiac diseases, implemented within a bilateral research project Romania(UTI, Iasi) – South Korea (INHA, Incheon) The present project proposal targets the following items: a) monitoring the patients “from home”, outside of cabinets equipped with standard electrocardiograph, using ECG acquisition systems such as holter/bracelet type b) design and implementation of dedicated compression methods, adapted to the ECG signals c) automated methods of processing ECG signals received by the server, including pre-diagnosis, identification of ECG signals with critical pathologies and generation of warning messages d) management of the databases stored on the server and generation of reports and statistics e) localization of the patients based on geographic coordinates (GPS) – optional 4

Research and development benefits q saving human lives of patients facing medical emergencies q increasing the quality of life of those people suffering from cardiac diseases q convenient update of a database with significant recordings for every enrolled person q significant decrease of public health expenditure by: a) care or supervision of the patients at their homes; b) shortening the hospitalization time in post-op cases; c) reducing the need for actual intervention of the doctors only to major risk cases q improving the quality of medical care by collecting data useful for diagnosis and specific therapy of patients with cardiac diseases 5

Innovative aspects q Extend/adjust the compression algorithms already published by the team members for the ECG signals recorded on the ECG – telemedicine platform and reduce the size of the ECG file, important for long-term storage and internet transmission q. Pre-diagnostic facility of the ECG platform implies using intelligent solutions for classification of the ECG signals based on some pathologic correlations – this classification approach / algorithm will be improved and adjusted according to the direct feedback of the medical colleagues and from the real-life annotation 6 04 September 2021
