Bellringer – Day 27 – Bar Graphs, Ford Model T and Industrialization According to the bar graph, growth in the number of Model-T car sales slowed down between 1912 and 1913. The number of car sales still increased, but it only increased from about 170 thousand to about 202 thousand, (about 32, 000 in that year). Every other year, it grew by over 100, 000 cars per year. Answers will vary, but industrialization in the late 1800 s made it so that factories in cities could force workers to work many hours with little rest. The advent of the light bulb further causes workers to work in unsafe conditions when they were tired and could barely see at night. The early 1900 s brought about the Progressive Era, where workers united and began to fight for improved working conditions.
