Proposed EU Regulation to replace 1222/2009 (Tyre Labelling) Ø As tyres are becoming increasingly

Proposed EU Regulation to replace 1222/2009 (Tyre Labelling) Ø As tyres are becoming increasingly available in the label band A, there is a demand to differentiate these tyres and also avoid classes such as A+, A++ etc. Ø It is therefore proposed to lower the upper limit of band A, create a new band B and rename the existing B and C to be C and D (there is currently no band D)

Possible necessary amendments Ø Despite GTR 15 not mentioning the labelling letters, it should

Possible necessary amendments Ø Despite GTR 15 not mentioning the labelling letters, it should be kept technically alligned to EU legislation Ø This would require defining a new band (band 0? ) and setting a lower RRC limit for the existing band 1 Ø The new band would require a „mid point“ to be used for the calculation of cycle energies and thus CO 2 values Ø The „mid point“ of band 1 may be „corrected“ but this would cause confusion which may be considered undue
