Declarative (statement) Declarative sentence tells about people or others doing something. It ends with a period. Example: Ø Yesterday I went to the zoo, it was really fun. Ø Tonight I have to study for tomorrow’s exam. Ø My friends are going to the park today, after school.
Interrogative (question) Interrogative sentences is when a person ask something. It uses who, what, where, when, why, and how in the beginning of the sentence and ends with a question mark. Example: Ø What time is it? Ø When is your birthday? Ø Why are you absent yesterday?
Exclamatory (exclamation) Exclamatory sentence that has very strong emotions or surprise feelings and ends with exclamation marks. Example: Ø Tomorrow is my birthday! Ø I am throwing a party at my house! Ø Yesterday I went to the zoo and suddenly a elephant just blew off my hat!
Imperative (command) Imperative sentence is a sentence that tells a person what they have to do or a command (ordering). It can be in a polite way or in a impolite way. It can end with a period or a exclamation marks. Example: Ø Please bring me a glass of water. Ø Go feed my dog! Ø Please help me carry those laundrys.
