There are different ways of classifying hotel guests based on: O The purpose of their visit O Origin O Size of the group O Age group

1. Purpose O Depending on the purpose of their visit, they could be classified as: O Tourists O Business travellers O Delegates and conventioneers O Health Tourist

Tourists: O They travel for sightseeing, recreation, visiting and non-business activities. O Hotel has to provide them with any information that may need about the area, the transportation, any local events that may take place in the surround area etc. O They are looking for recreational facilities, food and beverage services and interior design.

Business travelers: This type of guests require internet and possibly fax access they also require easy and fast access to the town center from the hotel for work related purposes.

Delegates and conventioneers: O This kind of guests require space to host their meetings seminars, trade fairs or conventions without any disturbances along with internet access while they work. O once the convention is over they wish to relax and have fun seeking activities and services similar to those leisure guests.

Health tourist: O Health tourist looking to rejuvenate with yoga, spa, meditation or other natural and holistic healing methods.

2. Size matters O Depending on the size of the group, they could be classified into: O Families O Solo travelers

Families: O Families could be looking for a short break with a weekend getaway. The families include kids of all age groups and child friendly facilities are what they are looking for.

The solo traveler: O The solo traveler can be a business traveler or an adventure tourist. He or she could also be a VIP or an important international delegate.

3. Origin O Depending on their origin, guests can be classified as domestic or international travelers.
