What is Assistive Technology? “Assistive technology is any piece of equipment or device that may be used by a person with a disability to perform specific tasks, improve functional capabilities, and become more independent” (Netherton and Deal, 2006, p. 11).
What is Assistive Technology? In other words, “assistive technology is intended to maximize a person’s abilities while minimizing the challenges of having the disability” (Assistive Technology LDA, 2006, p. 1).
