1 Timothy • 1: 3 -4 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. • 6: 3 -5 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
Avoid Foolish Questions • 2 Tim 2: 23 -25 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. Non Contenders • Avoids all confrontations (no views expressed or defended for fear of disagreements) • 1 Peter 3: 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: • Eph 5: 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Cowardice of Non Contenders • They judge Christians as being judgmental • They won’t tolerate Christians’ intolerance • They will flatter the Christian to his face for his steadfast faith and conviction, but belittle him behind his back • They will not approach their offenders but will gossip about them to others (Matt. 18: 15) • A friend to everyone is a friend to no one!
