MY TWITTER PLN!

@albertateachers Subscribing to alberta teachers allowed me to have access to the professional network of teachers and provides current information on schools and teachers in Alberta. I can also learn, through ASN about standards of professional educators and this provides me with more knowledge as I enter this field of study.

@Anwen. Burk Anwen Burk is an insturctional designer. She was one of the leaders in a course I took this semester in university, and thus following her on twitter provided me with useful information in regards to the field of study and also in terms of classroom updates.

@rehanamukadam This snapshot of my twitter profile provides an example of my tweets, and how they relate to education as a field of study. In learning to use twitter as a PLN tool, I have found very many ways to gain access to new information and knowledge that I would otherwise not be able to access. I can say this because twitter provides a dynamic environment where people can interact on a realtime level. This allows for content knowledge to be as updated as possible in our current society.

PLN SUMMARY! • As shown in the previous slides, I am a student and my focus of having this twitter account is to network with professionals in my field and to associate with people who are currently involved in similar associations. • I focus most of my tweets towards education professionals who teach grade school. • I am still a university student, but given the opportunity to work with elementary aged children has piqued my curiosity towards this age level. • I find twitter to be very useful in terms of gathering real time information at the click of a mouse.
