STARTER TASK �� Food for Thought To start our lesson today, we are going to watch some cartoon fairytales. The clever owl has given these stories a ‘quick fix’. In order to ‘fix’ them, he has changed one crucial part of each story. Can you identify which part of each story has been ‘fixed’? We will watch Goldilocks, The Gingerbread Man, and Little Miss Muffet.

MAIN TASK 2 – Parody �� Vocabulary Giving a story an anti-climax is just one way of turning that story into a parody. A parody is a humorous imitation of a particular text, often where things have been played-up or played-down for comedic effect. In other words, with a parody we take the mickey out of a text (like Goldilocks) by noticing how silly the story is. We can notice how silly it is by playing-up or playing-down one aspect of this story (like the personality of a character).
