• One in 5 children in El Paso County go to bed every night hungry. • 1 in 7 of people in Southern Colorado don’t know where our next meal will come from. • Our community isn’t the best it can be when people are hungry.

 • Like the clients we serve, Care and Share longs to contribute to

• Like the clients we serve, Care and Share longs to contribute to our own success. • Nonprofits can no longer rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 • Missions of funding organizations change, but yet, the need to feed people

• Missions of funding organizations change, but yet, the need to feed people remains. • We cannot rely solely on philanthropists or the government to solve our community’s needs.

The Problem to be Solved • People are hungry and they aren’t getting the

The Problem to be Solved • People are hungry and they aren’t getting the food they need to thrive. • More than one third of the food supply in our country ends up in a landfill every year. • That is enough for every person in our country to receive one meal a day, every day, of the year.

A Solution… GOALZERO Recycling Zero Waste for Zero Hunger In September 2016 we launched our social enterprise—GOALZERO Recycling Growth, continual change, and learning

 • Our focus originally was to work with businesses that generate large amounts

• Our focus originally was to work with businesses that generate large amounts of cardboard, plastic (shrink wrap, foam, etc. ), and pallet lumber waste. • For a fee we removed these materials and would sell them to generate a revenue stream that will ultimately provide meals to people facing hunger.
