TUESDAY MORNING SERVICE WELCOME TO YOUR CHURCH Together: Growing, Caring, Sharing in God’s Love
WELCOME TO OUR SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE during the time after Easter. This Power. Point presentation will give you all you need to celebrate at home this service. For the Song/Hymn, just click on the titles, and the weblink will open it directly in your computer. Watch the video in full screen, then come back to this presentation. You have the choice between a modern song or a traditional hymn.
The Psalm can be read by two people or two groups of people if you want. The slides completely white are to invite you to a brief pause before passing to a new part. You may start by lighting a candle now.
(Time of quiet to be in presence of the Lord)
In your Resurrection, O Christ. All Let heaven and earth rejoice. Alleluia!
SONG/HYMN Modern Song: ‘He has risen’ Traditional Hymn: ‘Tell out my soul’
Blessed are you, Lord God of our Salvation. All to you be glory and praise for ever!
Once you delivered your people from Egypt. All and led them to freedom in the promised land.
Now, you have delivered us from the dominion of darkness: All and brought us into the Kingdom of your Risen Son.
As we are the first fruits of your new creation: All may we rejoice in this new day you have made, and praise you for your mighty acts.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.
All As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever. Amen.
THE WORD OF GOD Living and Powerful
PSALM (Good News Version) Psalm 30
I praise you, LORD, because you have saved me and kept my enemies from gloating over me. 2 I cried to you for help, O LORD my God, and you healed me; 3 you kept me from the grave. I was on my way to the depths below, but you restored my life. 1
4 Sing praise to the LORD, all his faithful people! Remember what the Holy One has done, and give him thanks!
5 His anger lasts only a moment, his goodness for a lifetime. Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning.
6 I felt secure and said to myself, “I will never be defeated. ” 7 You were good to me, LORD; you protected me like a mountain fortress. But then you hid yourself from me, and I was afraid.
8 I called to you, LORD; I begged for your help: 9 “What will you gain from my death? What profit from my going to the grave? Are dead people able to praise you? Can they proclaim your unfailing goodness? 10 Hear me, LORD, and be merciful! Help me, LORD!”
11 You have changed my sadness into a joyful dance; you have taken away my sorrow and surrounded me with joy. 12 So I will not be silent; I will sing praise to you. LORD, you are my God; I will give you thanks forever.
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
NT READING (News International Reader Version)
9 We know that Christ was raised from the dead and will never die again. Death doesn’t control him anymore. 10 When he died, he died once and for all time. He did this to break the power of sin. Now that he lives, he lives in the power of God. 11 In the same way, consider yourselves to be dead as far as sin is concerned. Now you believe in Christ Jesus. So consider yourselves to be alive as far as God is concerned. (Rom 6. 9 -11)
PRAYERS FOR THE WORLD (Present to the Lord all your prayers, for yourself, your loved ones, and the whole world)
(We offer ourselves to the Lord)
All Risen Christ, you filled your disciples with boldness and fresh hope: strengthen us to proclaim your risen life and fill us with your peace, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER Rejoicing in God’s new creation, as our Saviour taught us, we pray with confidence:
(Modern Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. (Traditional Version) Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
SENDING OUT May the Risen Christ give us the joys of eternal life: Alleluia, Amen.
Let us bless the Lord. Alleluia, alleluia: All Thanks be to God. Alleluia, alleluia.
