Streetcar Route on the UA Campus

Project Update • Construction begins early 2012 (Utility work underway) • City awards contract in early March 2012. • UA team working closely with City to develop intergovernmental agreements for construction, real estate, operations & maintenance. • First and Second Streets will become 2 -way streets (see map) • Access will be maintained as much as possible to key campus areas

1 st and 2 nd Streets Become 2 -Way As is now (one-way): • Two-way streets will help maintain access during construction. • Original one-way construction was a result of prior construction on Speedway. • Two-way streets promote pedestrian and bicycle safety, slow speeds, and create a more residential atmosphere.
