Low Voltage/High Voltage • Low-voltage is 12/24 volts direct current (VDC) and can run as high as 42 VDC. • Does not cause serious injury or death. • High-voltage system is 60 or higher VDC or 30 or higher volts alternating current (VAC). • Electric-drive commercial vehicle includes a high voltage system operating anywhere between 300 and 800 VAC. • High-voltage (VDC or VAC) can result in serious injury or death (i. e. , electrocution).

If there is not enough space under the vehicle with the air suspension deflated, request the driver to deplete the air from the suspension by activating the suspension air dump valve if the vehicle is so equipped. 3. If there is enough clearance, continue the inspection 4. If it is possible to deplete the air in the suspension without affecting the brake system, the officer may do the undervehicle portion of the inspection with a deflated air suspension. 5. If conducting the under-vehicle part of the inspection is not safe, limit the vehicle inspection to a Level II.

Operational Policy 14 - *EDIT* (Brakes) When a 393. 47(e) is documented on the electronic roadside inspection report, a pop-up box will appear, once per unit, asking the following question: “You have selected a 393. 47(e), is this vehicle required under 393. 53(b) to be equipped with an automatic brake adjustment system? ” If the answer is yes, a 393. 53(b) violation will be added to the ‘Other Violations’ section of the electronic roadside inspection report, once for each unit and another “pop-up” box asking “Is this vehicle equipped with manual slack adjusters? ” appears.
