Monitoring Data Documentation • IMPROVE aerosol sampler operations (4 modules, 1 in 3 day operation, size cuts) • 6 (7) major chemical species and their relationship to extinction • Old and new IMPROVE equations – Scientific justifications – Calculation of deciview and visual range metrics – Practical applications (what do changes mean to WRAP Class I areas? ) • Discussion of selected tracers • Discussion of known uncertainties/problems in the IMPROVE data set – Flow rate problems resulting in poorly characterized size cuts – Changes in filter media, particularly during the baseline period, that have affected concentrations (e. g. , chloride ion) – Which sites? How can we use these data?
