What is Project SEARCH? Project SEARCH is a SCHOOL TO WORK PROGRAM that provides employment and education opportunities to individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities.

A Typical Day • 8: 00 -9: 00 • 9: 15 -2: 00 • 2: 00 -2: 30 Arrive at Hospital Classroom Instruction Internship at Department (includes a 30 min. lunch) Classroom Instruction
Orientation • First 2 -3 weeks of school • Learning hospital policies and procedures • Learning the hospital floor plan • Employability skills • Interview skills • Computer skills

Task List Order Task Read through all rules before beginning work Put belongings away. Get clip board ready to go. 1. The first task is to restock rooms with linens. 1 -10 ; A-G (Except F) *See Checklist Check beds reminder 2. Check every soiled linen bag in the gym and empty if full. Check beds reminder 3. Stock linen stations. (There are 4 linen stations. ) Check beds reminder 4. Check/put away used hot packs and covers. Check beds reminder 5. Make sure there are 8 bags of ice ready in ice machine Check beds reminder 6. Put away equipment that is out of place including weights, theraband, bolsters, leave out at least two Styrofoam wedges for patient use. Check beds reminder 7. Make sure area near balance bar is clutter free. Do not go near balance bar until patients are not present. Check beds reminder 8. Sanitize exercise equipment. Only if a patient is not using it. Never go to a machine in use. Do not stare at patients. Never ask someone to get off a machine so you can clean it. Check beds reminder 9. Dust under beds, matt tables and mobilization tables in rooms and gym. Check beds reminder
