The purpose of troop committee is to ensure that: • The troop has a quality program; under capable leadership. • The troop achieves purposes of chartered organization and the Boy Scouts of America.

Adult Leaders § Scoutmaster (SM) • Train, guide, and support the boy leaders • Work with other adults to bring Scouting to boys • Use the methods of Scouting to achieve the aims of Scouting • Conduct Scoutmaster Conferences (SMC) for all rank advancements • Position is reflected in the quality of guidance affecting every youth and adult involved in the troop § Assistant Scoutmasters (ASM)
Troop(團) § Boy-Led troop § Composed of all patrols § Senior Patrol Leader (SPL-聯隊長) • Elected by all troop scouts • Provide leadership for every scout • Lead troop meetings and PLC meetings
Troop(團) (cont. ) § Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC-小隊長) • Composed of • • Senior Patrol Leader Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders Troop Guides • Primary leadership body of the troop • Plan the troop's overall program • Ensure troop events are efficient, interesting , fun and well run § Other positions • Scribe, Instructor, quartermaster, den chiefs
Patrols(小隊) § The building block of a troop § Composed of up to 8 or 10 scouts § Almost all activities are patrol based • • Plan and carry out events together Camping, hiking, cooking, etc. Practice leadership on a manageable scales Build bonding
Patrols (小隊) (cont. ) § Boy-Led patrol § Patrol Leader (小隊長) • Elected by scouts within a patrol • Serves six months per term • Takes leading role in planning and conducting patrol meetings • Takes charge of patrol at troop meetings and campout • Represents the patrol at Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC)
