Background of Tribal Transportation Planning Workshop Since 1997, Arizona Department of Transportation has assisted Arizona’s Tribal communities to complete numerous planning studies. To better help Tribal community representatives understand the steps to implement these plan recommendations, ADOT developed a training Integrating Statewide and Tribal Transportation Planning Workshop 4
Goal of the Training Program Primary Goal: Detail how to take a project from an Idea/Concept to Implementation § Break down the planning to implementation process into simple steps § Non-intimidating and easy to use, so users do not have to attend special training § Avoid bulk hard-copy manuals - allow users to find information within a few clicks § Work for advance, moderate, and novice users with a range of planning/engineering experience § Consider the needs of large, medium, and small tribes Integrating Statewide and Tribal Transportation Planning Workshop 5
