Key areas in seed data management. • Data capture -data entry (new information documented etc). • Data processing. -performing searches (answers queries). • Data output( retrieval) -various output formats e. g. excel, statistical analysis
Why document seed data? • Why? . § to store records better for future references. § maintain species identity. § Data Capture -procurement methods documented (seed sources, supplies (collection and handling) -quality results documented (purity, MC and Viability, ) -distribution processes (seed requests, quantities and dispatch procedures).
Directories/modules in seed data management. • Data processing directories. § Data directories available in processing -add/edit and view buttons. -accession data -orders -customer. -species information -supplies data. (adding a new supply) -suppliers information (new supplier code) -provenance.
Reporting documentation • Reports/queries. • statistical analysis on various formats. § Gives reports to customers, suppliers. § Analyze reports on procurement and distribution in excel sheets. § Summaries of reports on particular species at a given time. (in terms of request, quantities)
